Article VI Section 3 (excerpt from SEIU 521 Bylaws) Retired members may choose to retain full membership by paying the minimum level of full dues of an active, regular member. Any retiree paying full dues shall be eligible for nomination and election to any office of the Local Union for which he/she is eligible, according to his/her region of domicile including the Executive Board Delegate of the Retiree Chapter.

Article VI Section 3 (excerpt from SEIU 521 Bylaws) A member, who has retired in good standing from a jurisdiction represented by SEIU 521 may join the Retiree Chapter of the Local Union. This qualifies the member for voting in any Retiree Chapter or local wide election.

This authorization applies to any changes in the amount of the dues and other fees of SEIU 521 and is to continue until written notice is served by the undersigned to the Union and/or at the age 75 years or older I become a lifetime member having paid dues continuously to the UNION for at least 10 years. My membership will become effective when my first dues are received by the Union. Dues, contributions or gifts to SEIU 521 are not deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. Dues paid, however, may qualify as business expenses, and may be deductible in limited circumstances subject to various restrictions imposed by the Internal Revenue Code.
