SAN JOSE – Santa Clara County employees plan to stage an “Occupy Julian” action Tuesday to call attention to their fight for a fair and equitable contract for the Social Services Supervisory workers.
At a time when public services face budget cuts every year, the county should not target front-line workers delivering vital safety-net programs.

“We just want a fair contract,” said Yazmina Letona, a social worker with the county’s Department of Family and Children’s Services. “It’s time for working families and the middle class to stand up for an economy that works for all of us, not just the top 1 percent and big banks that don’t pay their fair share of taxes.”

WHAT: Santa Clara County workers stage “Occupy Julian” action
WHEN: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1
WHERE: 333 Julian St., San Jose.
