National day of occupation hits the streets nationwide “We are the 99%” comes to San Jose Thursday
SAN JOSE – The courts may have the final say as to whether people can stay encamped in public spaces, but on Thursday, thousands throughout the Bay Area will be taking to the streets, bridges and public squares to say: “We are the 99% and we need our economy to work again.”
Working families, teachers, students, and workers in San Jose will join hundreds of other communities to speak out against policies that have enriched the 1% and impoverished the 99%.
The event is held in conjunction with the American Federation of Teachers Local 6157, California Faculty Association (CFA), Communications Workers of America (CWA), Silicon Valley Independent Living Center, and others.
