County Workers Target Farmers’ Market Population
Workers to educate public about vital county services available to Silicon Valley’s growing low-income community
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Santa Clara County social workers, public health nurses, dietitians, 911 dispatchers and other health and safety workers will offer free information to the community on Wednesday to highlight the continuous need for quality services as affordability for many in the county declines.

WHY:
Santa Clara County boasts a rebounding economy, but many of its citizens are marginalized low-income workers who rely on quality public services. The income inequality debate has extended beyond a low-income worker issue—to one that affects the entire community. County workers will have a booth at the Farmers’ Market educating the public on the array of vital services available to Santa Clara County residents.
