In public comments and a rally, workers will point out BOS’ lack of leadership
Fresno County workers will call attention to the Board of Supervisors’ lack of leadership at Tuesday morning’s meeting. Workers will then rally outside the Hall of Records at lunchtime.
The Board of Supervisors is slated to approve a 12 percent raise for a special class of retirees working as extra help. Yet at the same time, the anti-worker board majority is demanding most of its workers take a 12 percent or higher pay cut. Workers speaking at the board’s morning session will call attention to this double standard.
Workers will rally against the board’s egregious demands outside at a lunchtime rally. If the board had its way, approximately $40 million in state and federal aid would be turned away rather than paid to Fresno County employees and then spent in Fresno County businesses.
