Congratulations to one of the newest chapters in our union, FIRST 5 Santa Clara County! In mid-February, our fellow members won and ratified their first union contract! Through the first contract, wages will be addressed by focusing on inequities in pay and workers will no longer be at-will employees by securing a grievance process. The right to collectively bargain for better wages and working conditions is the foundation of our labor movement. When workers can unite in the workplace, we become stronger together, and we can raise the standard for working conditions and the services that our communities depend on us for.
