SEIU Local 521 Convention – December 9-10, 2022
SEIU Local 521’s Convention was held in person on December 9-10, 2022, in San Jose, California. The purpose of the convention was to review the progress of our union since our last convention in 2017 and to develop goals and priorities for the coming years, by getting input from all the delegates. Members from across Silicon Valley to Bakersfield, the Central Coast to Stockton, and across California assembled for our first in-person local-wide event in years, our 2022 “Making Good Trouble Convention” in San Jose. Elected member delegates celebrated hard-earned victories, sharpened their organizing skills, highlighted members making a difference in their workplace, and planned for a bright 2023 year and beyond. The convention also featured remarks from SEIU International President, Mary Kay Henry and the official adoption of the 2023 Executive Board Priorities.
