REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – After months of negotiating, Redwood City workers voted to ratify a three-year contract on June 15.
SEIU Local 521 members worked diligently since January to reach a deal that was in the best interest of Redwood City residents.
“We understand the city’s economic situation, and we’re always willing to do our part to maintain services,” said Rich del Ben, SEIU Local 521 Chapter Chair. “That’s why we looked for solutions that benefit the whole community.”
“Our goal is always to provide top quality services to Redwood City families,” said Cheryl Easterbrook, Secretary for Engineering and Transportation. “In these tough economic times, we always strived toward an agreement that maintains community services, and we’re happy to have accomplished that.”
