Home Care workers rally at Board of Supervisors Monday
WHAT: Home care workers to rally at the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors’ meeting.
WHEN: Monday, March 11, noon – 2 p.m.
WHERE: Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, 70 W. Hedding, San Jose
WHY: SEIU Local 521’s In-Home Supportive Services workers have been bargaining with the county since December. The county has canceled negotiation sessions, did not respond to workers’ proposals, and failed to provide requested information.
Home care workers help the county’s most vulnerable residents to live independently at home, yet they earn 17 % below the self-sufficiency wage for a person in San Jose.
