CalPERS Election Results

After months of running the strongest localwide member to member campaigns we have ever run, our champion on the CalPERS, Priya Mathur, was defeated by a police association president from Southern California, Jason Perez. Just over 16,000 eligible local government employees voted out of approximately 258,000.
Despite this loss, Local 521 can be proud of what we accomplished through worksite meetings, online voting events, and phone banking. We must be resilient and focus on holding the new board member accountable. And remind everyone of the importance of voting!
